On Saturday Night October 30th we will be having our second Jazz2Cure Night at First Parish Church Framingham’s Scott Hall.

The Jazzed For A Cure Foundation is all about enhancing patient life while a person is undergoing treatment for a Cancer related illness. In the past the money raised by concerts and the sale of the Song For Amy CD have helped purchase laptop computers and Wii Game Systems for Bone Marrow Transplant patients at Mass General Hospital (see the pictures below ). The Laptops are used for email and internet access so patients can keep in touch with extended family. The Wii systems can be wheeled into patient rooms can help with physical therapy.

Proceeds from this event will go to the HOPES Program at Mass General Hospital.  One aspect of the HOPES program is to provide Music and Art therapy for young and old cancer patients undergoing treatment.  Music and art therapy are great ways for a patient to be creative and to take their minds off of their medical routine.

Music for the night will be supplied by the Mike Caruso Group. It will be a mix of new and old MC originals and arrangements of some music everyone will recognize. Check out the MP3 Music Link for more on Mike’s original compositions.

Bose Corporation has generously supplied a SoundDock Series II speaker system for our raffle. Red Barn Coffee of Southboro will be providing Coffee for the evening. Soft Drinks and dessert will also be complimentary. Many thanks to Bose and Red Barn Coffee and Centre Music of Framingham for their support. A special thanks to the First Parish Youth Group who will be the staff for the event.
